The backrest frame of the Archibald Stools is made from moulded rigid polyurethane. The internal padding is in soft moulded polyurethane and polyester wadding. The seat frame is made from birch plywood with padding in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. It is supported by an apron which connects it to the base. The seat is upholstered entirely in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric. The metal base features a swivel steel stem that is height-adjustable via a gas spring mechanism, operated by a stainless steel lever located on the right side beneath the seat. The rectangular-section footrest in stainless steel tapers from the inside outward. The floor support plate is also made of steel. All visible steel surfaces are mirror-polished, except for the top of the footrest, which has a unidirectional brushed finish.
